As a former MVP and multiple-time Super Bowl champion, Patrick Mahomes, the best National Football League player, offered glowing praise of world-renowned pop singer Taylor Swift during an interview with CBS Mornings.
Not only did Mahomes extol Swift’s professional talents, but he also credited her for becoming “part of Chiefs Kingdom” because she is dating tight end Travis Kelce. Swift first attended a Chiefs game on September 24 at Arrowhead Stadium when the Chiefs defeated the Chicago Bears.
Mahomes said that everyone had initially “stayed away” when Kelce first began dating Swift. However, the quarterback emphasized that Swift’s attendance at games has led to her becoming “part of the team.” Swift, who began dating Kelce in 2023, said in a recent interview that they were already a couple at that point and that they support each other publicly.
Swift is not only passionate about cheering Kelce on at every Chiefs game, but they also aim to support each other privately. “We’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift said, revealing to TIME magazine that they are proud of each other and proud to support each other.
A source close to the couple revealed that both parties are carving out time for each other despite their busy schedules, communicating primarily through calls, texts, and FaceTime when they are unable to spend time together physically.
A friend of the couple told Us Weekly “They are trying to make as much time for each other as possible. When they can’t physically be together, they are constantly texting, calling, and FaceTiming.”
The future of the couple’s relationship has led to speculation among some of their friends that Swift and Kelce may eventually exchange wedding vows. Mahomes indicated his support for Swift and Kelce’s relationship, saying “So for me, its Travis, man, and he’s lucky enough to be with a great girl, and a great woman, and it’s been cool to interact with her.”
