Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz has called out several groups that support Hamas in its ongoing conflict with Israel. According to him, these groups include radical Islamic organizations, American revolutionary groups, old-fashioned anti-Semites, and “useful idiots” who align themselves with various social causes without full understanding.

Hamas initiated the war with Israel on October 7 by launching an invasion from Gaza and killing an estimated 1,200 to 1,400 civilians. In response, Israel has launched a military campaign with the aim of eliminating the threat of further terrorism from Hamas.

Dershowitz, a well-respected legal scholar, has identified specific groups that have thrown their support behind Hamas in its confrontation with Israel. These include radical Islamic organizations that view Israel as the “Little Satan” and the United States as the “Big Satan,” as well as American revolutionary groups that align themselves with disruptive movements in an effort to undermine the American government.

In addition, Dershowitz points to traditional anti-Semitic groups that harbor hatred for anything associated with Jews and propagate conspiracy theories blaming “the Jews” for all evils. Lastly, he highlights the “useful idiots” who align themselves with various causes and movements without a full understanding of the issues at hand.

Dershowitz cautions that the groups supporting Hamas are not limited to protests against Israeli military actions in Gaza, but also include orchestrated demands for a ceasefire by radical organizations. He notes that these demonstrations are not spontaneous grassroots responses, but rather organized by specific groups with an anti-Israel, anti-American, pro-Hamas, and pro-terrorism agenda.

Furthermore, Dershowitz warns that as Israel carries out legitimate military efforts to destroy Hamas terrorists hiding among civilians, the accidental deaths of civilians can be exploited to recruit more anti-Israel “useful idiots.” He suggests that these groups are relatively small, but their involvement in protests can make them appear larger and more organized.

Dershowitz raises a critical concern about the potential for the “useful idiots” who currently march in favor of Hamas and Israel’s destruction to become a fifth column in America. He questions the possibility of these individuals willingly joining Hamas terrorists in targeting Jewish and other institutions in the United States.

As the conflict between Hamas and Israel continues, Dershowitz’s analysis sheds light on the diverse groups and motivations that contribute to the support of Hamas. With his expertise and insight, Dershowitz provides a unique perspective on the complexities of the ongoing conflict and the various stakeholders involved.
