Entertainment News

Nicki Minaj has teamed up with some of music’s best and now she’s eyeing another big name to add to her list. The rapper took to social media to cheer on Taylor Swift after the pop star was named Spotify’s top-streamed artist of 2023.

“The SAG[ITTARIUS] QUEEN TAYLOR DESERVES!!!! PERIOD!!!!!” Minaj, 41, wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter), celebrating Swift’s record of 26.1 billion global streams since Jan. 1 and her projected earnings of over $100 million in Spotify royalties.

Minaj went on to praise Swift, citing her commercial success as an inspiration for her fans. She also touted her own success, announcing the vinyl sales record for any female rap album in history, with her new album, Pink Friday 2, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200.

Expressing her excitement to collaborate with Swift, Minaj responded to a fan by saying she would hit the recording studio “in a heartbeat.”

Despite a brief feud in 2015, Minaj and Swift have had a friendly relationship for years, joining forces to open the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. More recently, fans speculated whether the duo were working on music together for Swift’s 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

Meanwhile, Minaj has been busy promoting her new album, making a return to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and engaging in a humorous rap battle with the late-night host. Her appearances on Colbert’s show have been a hit, proving her unexpected chemistry with the host is still as evident as ever.

As for Swift, she recently gave Minaj a sweet shoutout at this year’s Video Music Awards, signaling the pair’s continued support for each other in their respective careers.

The relationship between the two stars, who share the same star sign, continues to captivate fans, sparking rumors of potential collaborations and joint projects. Time will tell if Minaj and Swift will team up for a musical endeavor, but for now, their mutual admiration for each other’s work is apparent to all.
