Locals rescued from boat amid floods in northern Spain

After heavy rains flooded several areas along Spain’s northern coast on Monday 29 November, rescue services were called into action in many areas. The footage showed members of the Guardia Civil rescuing locals in Carandia, southwest of the coastal city of Santander. Spain’s meteorological service, AEMET, had issued an orange and yellow rain warning for the north of the country. El Diario said the flooding had subsided by Tuesday, but the situation was being monitored ahead of Wednesday’s rain and the possibility of floodwaters coming from higher areas. credit: Guardia Civil via Storyful
