State prime ministers told to ‘line hold’ and reopen borders

Tourism and Transport Forum CEO Margie Osmond has warned that a failure to keep the national cabinet’s agreement to reopen state borders will have dire consequences for the tourism sector ahead of the summer holidays.

“This will be the fifth set of consecutive school holidays that have been affected by COVID,” she told Sky News Australia.

“For us, it’s very important that state governments stick to what they all agreed on last night in the national cabinet and that we propose those limits as part of the national plan, or we’re really just sort of failing. We will see the industry we have been experiencing for some time now and which we are launching by the end of this year.”
