Verstappen will have to make a ‘full attack’: Rosberg

Former Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg believes Lewis Hamilton’s more experience in the Formula One title run-in could be crucial, but says Max Verstappen has a chance if he makes his move fully completes from.

Dutchman Verstappen is eight points ahead of seven-time champion Hamilton, who enters the inaugural season of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix this weekend.

“Emotionally, I say Lewis,” Rosberg, who had a difficult relationship with the Briton at Mercedes before retiring after his only win in 2016, told RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland on Tuesday.

“It’s certainly not going to be easy for Max, as he’s in such a position for the first time.

“And then he is also up against the most successful Formula One driver of all time. In this regard, he already deserves the greatest respect.”

But the 36-year-old has given Verstappen hope and risks rekindling a protracted feud with Hamilton.

Germ Rosberg explained, “You have to take advantage when Lewis has weak phases, when he loses a little motivation, his head. Then it’s full attack.”
